Dr. Avani N. Shah

Dr. Avani Shah is a Consultant in the department of Dermatology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre. After completing MBBS, Dr. Shah completed D.D.V. (C.P.S.) and M.D. (Dermatology) at the Topiwala National Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai. She also pursued fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology at the Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, United Kingdom, where she underwent training in laser epilation, Botox injection, fillers, skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. She also pursued observership under the mentorship of world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. John Celin. Dr. Shah has a vast experience of 22 years in the field of Dermatology. Prior to her association with our hospital, she mainly worked as a private Practitioner and also as a Consultant at Bombay hospital and Global hospital in Mumbai. She has rich experience in treating cases like psoriasis, lichen planus, eczemas, skin infections, and leprosy. She routinely performs skin procedures like skin biopsies, radiofrequency, cauterisation, cryosurgery, intralesional injections, and tumor extractions. She also has rich experience in practising aesthetic dermatology using PUVA, woods lamp, dermabrasion, chemical peels, lasers, Botox, dermarolling, and hair rejuvenation techniques to support her aesthetic practice. She treated stubborn skin pigmentation using Q switched Nd: YAG lasers, palmoplantar hyperhidrosis using Botox therapy, and also treated patients for laser epilation and fractional laser scar correction. Dr. Shah presented several research papers at national and international conferences. She also teaches undergraduate medical students at Bombay hospital. She also runs a charitable dermatologic clinic for the poor at Bombay Hospital and for inmates at the Dongri Remand Home for Children.
